Music for the Soul
I’ve loved music for as long as I can remember.
The radio became my greatest friend while in my room late at night. Bob Seger’s “Turn the Page” would rock me to sleep. I discovered the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, The Cars, and many, many more throughout the years. I’ve listened to every genre of music out there, from country to dubstep and I love it all. Music has been my confidante, my partner in crime, my trusted ally, and my soul mate. Music has always been part of me.
Something happened to me, though,
the first time I heard one particular band play live. Awestruck, mesmerized, and enthralled are some words that come to mind. It was as if I had found my musical home…pretty intense, I know. But, it was something unexpected. I was moved like I never had been before. I started traveling to various places to see them play live. I began to see familiar faces and made friends with people from all over the country. One thing we all share is a common passion for this band. I like to think of it as magical.
The combinations of Dave’s brilliant lyrics and melodies along with Stefan’s face-melting bass, Boyd’s dazzling fiddle, Rashawn’s sweet trumpet, Jeff’s velvety sax, , Tim’s tempestuous guitar, and Carter’s smiling drumbeats create a heavenly concoction of sweetness for the soul. They each are talented in their own right, but together, they create nothing short of perfection. I admire and love many artists, but the Dave Matthews Band will always have my heart.
